Review Date: December 2025

Introduction

Om3ga is committed to minimising its environmental impact and contributing positively to the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity. We recognise that our construction activities can influence ecosystems, habitats, and species, and we aim to integrate biodiversity considerations into our business practices wherever practicable.

Policy Statement

Om3ga will actively seek to protect, conserve, and, where possible, enhance biodiversity throughout all phases of our operations. This commitment supports national and international efforts to protect the environment and aligns with the UK Government’s biodiversity goals and the Construction Industry’s sustainability objectives.

Objectives

To achieve our commitment, Om3ga will:

  • Compliance: Meet or exceed all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and planning conditions relating to biodiversity.

  • Early Consideration: Incorporate biodiversity considerations at the earliest stages of project planning, design, and delivery.

  • Collaboration: Work with clients, ecological consultants, local authorities, and community stakeholders to promote biodiversity enhancements.

  • Protection of Habitats and Species: Take measures to avoid, mitigate, or compensate for adverse impacts on habitats and species during site works.

  • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG): Where practical, support Biodiversity Net Gain principles by enhancing ecological value post-construction.

  • Training and Awareness: Provide appropriate biodiversity awareness training to relevant staff and supply chain partners.

  • Sustainable Procurement: Where possible, source materials and products that support responsible land management and minimise ecological harm.

  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and review biodiversity impacts and performance, using feedback and lessons learned to drive continual improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Directors and Senior Managers are responsible for promoting and resourcing this policy.

  • Project Managers and Site Managers are responsible for its implementation on site, ensuring that biodiversity risks and opportunities are addressed during project delivery.

  • All Employees and Contractors have a responsibility to support biodiversity initiatives and comply with site-specific biodiversity requirements.

Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or in response to significant changes in legislation, industry best practice, or Om3ga Limited’s operations.
